This is a unique course in the UK and is designed for brewers, wine producers and people who are working or seeking to work in related trades. You will learn about the practice of beer and wine making and also the detailed theory involved. You will work with our own microbrewery, gaining experience of the most up-to-date brewing techniques in a realistic working environment. The programme provides material that will help you towards professional qualifications, as well as preparing you for taking up jobs in UK breweries and abroad.
Career Opportunities: Graduates from this programme have gone on to work in brewing (eg assistant brewers, quality control managers etc) and retail trades in the brewing industry.
Placement : Tuesday 2-9pm.
Teaching and Assessement : You will be taught through lectures, tutorials, visits and practical sessions with subject tutors and visiting specialists. You will be assessed through examinations and programme work.
Entry Requirements : This programme is most suited to applicants with some experience of professional brewing or looking for a career in the brewing industry. It is desirable if you have studied chemistry and biology to at least GCSE level.
